In collaboration with the Controller, the Associate Controller recommends, implements, operates and controls accounting policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generation of financial statements, financial reports, and other information reports and requests
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Performs periodic analyses
- Maintains bookkeeping files
- Perform clerical duties and a variety of bookkeeping and accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and processing of payroll
- Prepare and maintain employee benefits and other mandatory remittances
- Maintain and install accounting software and file backup
- Manage contract and price negotiation with office vendors and service providers
- Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results
- Work closely with other team members to meet defined and agreed upon objectives
- Monitor and administer dashboards, key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance with goals
- Assist Controller with general office tasks and projects
- Primary contact person for facilities maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, errands, invoices, contracts, routine information technology items, and other
- Other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Two to five years of experience in a related position
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Outstanding ability to think creatively to identify and resolve problems
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Solid understanding of fiscal controls, office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- An ability to clearly and articulately communicate thoughts and points, including technical concepts, effectively to a varied audience
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in an environment where priorities can change rapidly
- Strong attention to detail and independent problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to readily learn and efficiently utilize industry-specific software and related procedures

- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and foster a cooperative work environment

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in the Financial Services industry
- Knowledge of human resources management practices and procedures with the ability to further develop and implement employer human resources policies

- Ability to sit for an extended period, hear, see, lift no less than 20 pounds
- Background check results that are acceptable to the employer
- Ability to travel infrequently to Cannon branch office locations, attend training events, conferences, and/or other locations
